Announcement: Update on the SoS Campaign

We wish to acknowledge and thank everyone for their support and engagement in the Save Our Science (SoS) Campaign. QUT management has listened to our collective voices during the 20-day consultation period and has now presented their responses.

There have been some positive outcomes. In particular, the proposal for forced redundancies among academic staff has been withdrawn, and the planned school mergers have been delayed to allow for broader consultation in Quarter 1, 2026.

We are hopeful that these developments will lead to further positive changes, including improved information sharing, fairer redundancy planning and processes, and more open dialogue about the restructure. Definitive details on these matters will be released on 11 November.

We sincerely thank you for your continued support and for your positive influence on QUT decision-makers — your voices have made a real difference.
