The disaster over QUT Management decision to sack their science staff has reached the Queensland Parliament. On Wednesday, 15 October, former QUT student Bryson Head, the Member for Callide, spoke out against his alma mater’s decision to cut staff. Minister Head stated that he will be demanding a meeting with QUT Vice-Chancellor Margaret Sheil to express his disappointment and to outline why this poorly thought-out plan should be scrapped.
What began as a poor decision by the Magement of the Faculty of Science now looks like it could damage the reputation of the entire university. We are all waiting on Margaret's reply. Hopefully, she can clean up this mess.
