We invite all staff, students, and members of the community to join us under the Bunya Pine on Kidney Lawn, Gardens Point, on Thursday, 23 October from 2:45 to 3:15 pm, as we come together to stand up for science.
Nestled between the Botanical Gardens and Old Government House — the birthplace of Queensland democracy — Kidney Lawn is a fitting place to show our shared commitment to knowledge, discovery, and the future of science.
We ask everyone to wear green, the colour of the environment, sustainability, life, and growth — values that lie at the very heart of science. After gathering, we will march to U-Block to demonstrate our solidarity and dedication to saving science at QUT.
Bring your creativity and enthusiasm — you’re welcome to make a sign expressing your support (materials will be available). This will be an energetic but respectful event, and we ask that all participants help maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
If you can’t attend in person, you can still show your support by wearing green. Take a photo and send it to savequtscience@gmail.com, or post it on social media with the hashtag #savequtscience to help spread the message.
Together, let’s show that science matters — to our university, our students, and our shared future.
